Mahogany
Dining Table
44" diameter closed, 8' fully extended
This piece was a reproduction of an antique table
that had been in the clients family for years. It consists
of a tapered octagonal pedestal base that splits apart. The base is also recessed
to hide a 5th
leg when closed. The table aprons are twelve 1/16th" thick slices of solid
mahogany bent over
a form to create the semi-circle. The legs are 2' thick mahogany boards that
have been mortised and tenoned
into the base.
