Custom Maple Room Divider
approx. 11' L x 5' H x 34" D

This massive room divider was built in two pieces, an upper unit and a lower drawer unit.

The upper unit has a solid maple carcass with hand-cut box joints, maple veneer plywood interior shelving and eight highly figured tiger maple veneer doors. The upper unit weighs close to 500lbs.

The lower drawer box has four large drawers with solid maple fronts and dovetailed drawer boxes on full-extension slides.

In the pouring rain with five guys a loading ramp, dollies and a little bit of luck we managed to get it into place in one piece!

Close up of the box joints. Because the piece was so massive I opted to cut the box joints by hand rather than try to manuever it through a jig.
